I order books through Barnes & Noble on a regular basis (real books too, the kind that use ink and paper, I’m not ready for the electronic version, though I have considered it). There are always several inserts in the box the books come in. The last two orders I’ve received included flyers from one of those online print companies that offer FREE business cards (see my previous post for a bit more detail on this subject).
Wow! This is for Barnes & Noble customers only! WOW!!! And, if you take the time to flip the flyer over, on the reverse is an offer for a FREE rubber stamp. WOW, even more!!!
Now, if they’ve managed to get the hook caught in your mouth, you might actually read what the offer is. Hmmm, seems that you can only choose from the “stylish designs” they provide. How will the limited number of designs help you to stand out from all those other people picking from the same limited choices? And, you’ve got to love, in fine print, their “100% Satisfaction Guaranteed”… the cards are free, so you should be satisfied they didn’t cost you anything! Or did they?
